Newly Elected Bloomfield Official Scores Rare Write-in Vote Win

William Hosler wins as a write-in candidate in Bloomfield Hills

A local election saw a rarity in American politics: a write-in candidate winning. William Hosler, at attorney with Williams, Williams, Rattner & Plunkett, won his seat in the Bloomfield Hills City Commission elections on Nov 16. The other four members of the body all ran unopposed, though they did enjoy the advantage of having their names printed on the ballot. Hometown Life made the story national news, describing Bloomfield Hills (accurately) as “one of the wealthiest cities in America,” a fact reflected by one particular $10 million real estate listing.
