Police Locate Wallet Taken From Speedway Gas in Bloomfield
A Bloomfield Township police officer that took the time to walk along Maple Road recovered the lost wallet discarded by a driver.

Officers with the Bloomfield Township Police Department responded to theÂ
Speedway Gas Station, at 4890 W. Maple Rd., on Dec. 10 for a stolen wallet report and learned a man left his wallet on the counter inside the station after paying for his purchase.Â
When he realized it was missing at short time later, he returned and said it was gone. Surveillance video footage showed officers that the cashier took the wallet outside and give it to who he thought was the correct customer. However, the clerk was wrong, reports said.Â
The officer tracked down the commercial vehicle that man left the station in, and the driver told them that he initially thought the wallet was his but that he threw it out the window when he realized it wasn't.Â
Police found the wallet and its contents while walking along the shoulder of Maple Road. The case was turned over to the township attorney for review of possible misdemeanor charges.
