Probation Hearing Leads To Woman’s Arrest For Unrelated Crime
A Pontiac woman in court in Oakland County on a probation violation was arrested for shoplifting in Bloomfield Township, police say.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP -- After appearing in Circuit Court in Oakland County Wednesday for a probation violation, Ebony Monea-Evette Haden, 26, was arrested for a separate crime committed in Bloomfield Township. According to police, Haden, a Pontiac resident, was making a court appearance for the violation when a warrant for the Bloomfield Township incident was issued. Police say Haden left a Bloomfield Township TJ Maxx with $265 in unpaid-for merchandise late last year.
On November 20, 2017, a woman later identified as Haden entered the TJ Maxx at 2139 Telegraph Rd with a 5-year-old child in tow and proceeded to fill a reusable TJ Maxx shopping bag with the merchandise. Police say she also put a pink flat iron worth $25 in her purse. As she attempted to leave without paying, a loss prevention officer tried to intervene, and she pushed past him to exit the store.
In addition to her probation violation, Haden faces one count of second-degree retail fraud and one count of assault and battery. After her arrest, Haden was arraigned in 48th District Court, where Magistrate Howard T. Linden assigned a $10,000 bond (or 10$ cash/surety bond). Her next court appearance is April 2 before Judge Kimberly Small.
