Red Wings Open Camp in Plymouth, Announce 2013 Schedule
The team will offer free admission to the Red vs. White Game, and waive ticket fees for the first 35 hours after they become available Thursday.

While its home venue, the Joe Louis Arena, is booked for the North American International Auto Show, the Detroit Red Wings are offering fans a chance to see the team prepare for its lockout-shortened 2013 NHL season in Plymouth.
The Red Wings opened training camp Sunday before about 2,000 fans at Compuware Arena,Β 14900 Beck Road, in Plymouth, according to the Detroit Free Press, and began a second session at noon on Monday.

The team returns to Plymouth at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, and will hold its Red vs. White game later that evening, beginning at 6 p.m. Admission is free.
The Red vs. White contest also will be carried live by both Fox Sports Detroit, with Ken Daniels, Mickey Redmond and Larry Murphy calling the shots, and on 1270 AM with Ken Kal and Paul Woods.

The team is off Wednesday, then returns to Joe Louis Arena on Thursday for 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. practices, and again Friday for a noon practice.
All events are free to the public on a first-come, first-served basis, and doors for each event open one hour before the start time.
2013 Schedule
Now that the NHL lockout is officially over, it's clear the Red Wings will play 48 games in 99 days in order to extend its 21-season playoff streak, the longest current streak in professional sports.
Tickets to all 24 of the Red Wingsβ 2013 home games are set to go on sale this coming Thursday, Jan. 17, beginning at 1 p.m.
The team also joins the rest the league in acknowledging the lack of support fans might feel following the bitter work stoppage with special offers. Officials on Monday announced the "Thanks for sticking with us" initiativeβa 35-hour no-fee promise for ticket-buyers. The club and Ticketmaster will have no fees for any regular season ticket purchased from 1 p.m. on Thursday through midnight Friday at Detroitredwings.com, Ticketmaster.com, the Joe Louis Arena Box Office, or by calling 313-396-7575.

The first puck drops for the Wings on Jan. 19 in St. Louis, MO. Their first home game will be held Jan. 11 against Dallas at the Joe Louis Arena.
