1 Dead, 2 Hurt In Southeast MI Crash Caused By Speeding Jeep: Police

Both drivers and a passenger were trapped inside their vehicles and had to be extricated, according to police.​

GREEN OAK TOWNSHIP, MI — A Howell woman was killed and two others were injured in a Tuesday rollover crash in Livingston County, according to police.

The crash happened at 4 p.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of Rickett and Maltby roads in Green Oak Township, according to police.

Police said an 81-year-old Whitmore Lake man was speeding in a silver Jeep when he crashed into a blue GMC Terrain at the intersection.

Both drivers and a passenger inside the Terrain were trapped in their vehicles and had to be extricated, according to police.

The driver of the Terrain, a 35-year-old Howell woman was killed in the crash, according to police.

A 50-year-old woman from Howell and the driver of the Jeep were both seriously injured and were taken to University of Michigan Hospital for treatment, according to police.

The intersection is a 4-way stop with two stop signs on both sides of the road in each direction. There is also a flashing traffic light above the intersection.

No other details were released as police were still investigating the crash.
