1. Brighton Twp. adopts chicken ordinance changes. Here's the new rule (livingstondaily.com) — Brighton Township has officially relaxed its backyard chicken rules, allowing many more residents to keep hens on smaller lots than before. The new ordinance lowers the minimum lot size to just under an acre, sets limits on flock size, bans roosters on smaller parcels, and requires coops to be enclosed and set back from property lines. Township officials say they may revisit the rules again in the future.
   

2. Organization of Woodland Lake Seeks Revisions to Brighton Twp PUD (whmi.com) — A proposed condo development called The Cove at Woodland Lake in Brighton Township is drawing pushback from nearby residents worried about environmental impacts and density. Members of the Organization of Woodland Lake are asking the Livingston County Planning Commission to reject or revise the PUD, arguing it should better protect the lake and align with the township’s master plan and natural features overlay district.
   

3. 88-Year-Old Veteran Forced Back To Work Gets The Surprise Of A Lifetime (howzitkohala.com) — An 88-year-old Army veteran working full-time as a cashier at the Meijer in Brighton has received an outpouring of support after his story went viral online. Social media creator Samuel Weidenhofer highlighted how the loss of the man’s pension and medical costs forced him back to work, sparking a GoFundMe that quickly raised over $1.5 million to help him finally retire.
