The witness added he thought the man had a weapon in the backpack, according to police.

As an officer approached the Howell man, he punched the officer, according to police.

A second officer tried using a stun gun on the man, but a 48-year-old Brighton woman, who was with the suspect, tried to take the stun gun from the officer, according to police.

The woman's 21-year-old daughter also intervened in the fight, according to police.

Two more officers intervened in the fight and pulled the two women away from the fight, according to police.
