1. Joe Mike Family Honors His 100th Birthday with Special Art Showing

• When: Saturday, September 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Where: ArtVentures Gallery, 422 W. Main
• What: The family of beloved and well known Livingston County artist, Joe Mike, is honoring what would have been Joe’s 100th birthday this month.  On Saturday, September 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., an eclectic showing of his work and a special gift to the community will happen at ArtVentures Gallery in downtown Brighton. 

• When: Friday, September 27 starting at 9 a.m.
• Where: Miller Intergenerational Center, 850 Spencer Road, Brighton
• What: Come join the Brighton Senior Center for an unbelievable breakfast and unbeatable bargains. From 9-11am the Senior Center will be cooking up some yummy pancakes for $5 per person (Ages 5 & under only $2).... Breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, fruit, orange juice and coffee. After breakfast, spend some time shopping our indoor Attic Sale (9am-2pm, September 27th & 28th) where you will find some extraordinary treasures that are priced to sell.

• When: Sept. 28 and 29
• Where: Brighton State Recreation Area
• What: Come join the Hoverclub of America at Brighton State Recreation Area, in a thrilling day of sanctioned racing as hovercraft compete in 7 different classes to see who will become the National Hovercraft Champions in 2013. We will have sanction racing heats from noon-5 pm on Saturday, and Endurance racing on Sunday from noon-2 pm.

• Where: Brighton Barnes & Noble
• What: Bring your cameras and your children for a special storytime featuring a life size costume character of Skippy Jon Jones.
