Man Killed In I-96 Crash In Livingston County: Police
Investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.

HOWELL TOWNSHIP, MI — A man was killed in a crash on Interstate 96 in Livingston County on Monday afternoon, according to Michigan State Police.
The crash happened at 1:44 p.m. Monday in the westbound lanes on Interstate 96 at Mason Road in Howell Township, according to police.
Police said a 39-year-old man from Jalisco, Mexico, was driving a 2025 Kenworth semi-truck with a trailer, which he brought to a stop because of traffic congestion on the freeway.

A 2019 Dodge Ram then slammed into the back of the semi-truck's trailer, according to police.
The driver of the Ram, a 49-year-old Fowlerville man, was killed in the crash, according to police.

A passenger in the semi-truck, a 42-year-old man from Jalisco, Mexico, suffered minor injuries in the crash after he was thrown from the bunk area, according to police.
The driver of the semi-truck was not injured in the crash, according to police.
Investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. They were still investigating the crash.
