Brighton's First Day of School Plus More Tips for the Week Ahead

Here are five tips to help fuel your week in Brighton.

1. First day of school

Check here for a complete list of start and end times for each school and the attendance line information for those "just-can't-get-out-of-bed" mornings.

2. In the community
100 Women Who Care is a non profit organization of women who in Livingston County who gather and make major changes to the county through charity and positive energy. All women are encouraged to attend the fall meeting in September at 2/42 Church in Brighton.

3. For your information
Construction on the memorial will start around September 12. Sponsors are needed for the first flags to be flown at the memorial. People can sponsor one flag or all, we need Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines & Coast Guard flags and the American Flags. 
  • 3' x 5' military branch flags for the 15' poles (Estimate $60)
  • 4' x 6' POW/MIA flag for the 25' pole (Rolling Thunder)
  • 5' x 8' U.S. flag for the 30' pole ( Estimate $70)
4. Register now
Whether you are the family photojournalist or want better photos for your projects, this class will teach you to capture better photos.

5. Fall football
The next game for the Brighton Bulldogs is a home game on Friday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. against Canton.
