Turkey Flies Through Driver's Windshield In Michigan

The driver was not injured, but the turkey, however, wasn't so lucky, police said.​

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, MI — A driver is OK after a turkey flew through his windshield on Interstate 96 in Livingston County on Thursday, according to Michigan State Police.

The 19-year-old man from Sterling Heights was driving east on the freeway near Fowlerville Road at 12:45 p.m. when a turkey flew in front of his pickup truck and went through the windshield, police said.

Police said the man was able to keep control of his truck and avoid a major crash on the freeway.

Police urged drivers to be on the lookout for turkeys as turkey hunting season runs from April 20 through June 7.
