18 Young Miss Clawson Contestants to Compete Saturday
Former pageant winners will give away crowns, host and judge the contest.
The glitz and glamor continues this weekend when the Young Miss Clawson Pageant contestants compete at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Performing Arts Center.
The contestants, ages 8-11, will compete in several categories for the crown: personal interview before the pageant, introduction, talent, casual wear, formal wear and final questions. There will also be special awards for Best Author, Most Promising Poet, Best Artist, Peopleβs Choice Award, Talent, Miss Congeniality, Best Peopleβs Choice Award Bank and others.
The pageant winners have the privilege of wearing the crown for an entire year while participating in various community activities.

"I think it is so important to instill self-confidence in them at this age, plus promote community service and teamwork," pageant director Linda Gould said.
Admission for this event is $10. Proceeds will benefit the Clawson Educational Enrichment Fund, Friends of Blair Memorial Library and pageants for other age groups.Β

The emcee for this year's Young Miss Clawson Pageant is Adrianna Hayes, Miss Clawson 2007; the choreographer is Chrissie Maciejewski, Miss Clawson 1999 and one of the judges is Jordan Wroby, Miss Clawson 2004.
