5 Things You Should Know This Week

We're keeping you in the loop on events and meetings in Clawson this week.

1. There will be a food drive for needy families on Monday from 6-9 p.m. at . If you'd like to donate food to the Clawson Food Pantry, the collection sites are at , , Grace Apostolic, and Body Works, 808 W. 14 Mile. Suggested items are canned fruits and veggies, peanut butter, cereal, boxes meals, pasta and rice. The second food drive is 6-9 p.m. Oct. 24.Β 

2. will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Hunter Community Center. The youth community service group meets on the third Monday of every month. There are also field trips and community service projects at least once a month. The group is for kids ages 7-18.

3. City Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall. Β

4. The Clawson Historical Museum is offering a Clawson walking tour at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Starting at the Blair Memorial Library, the tour will navigate the downtown area, with several stops to "meet" with residents from the past who will tell a story of share historic information about the village and the city.

5. The Blair Memorial Library book sale kicks off Saturday and runs through Oct. 27. Library hours are noon-8 p.m. Monday and Wednesday; 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday. The library is closed on Friday and Sunday.
