Key to Awesomeness: TJ Verner is a great student and great athlete who is known for being very polite and admired by his teachers. He was recommended by Carrie Chambers, a Clawson parent and friend of TJ's mother. Chambers said TJ is always cheering for and encouraging his friends and teammates. TJ is a member of the Clawson Mavericks football team and has great speed and ability when it comes to sports, said his mother, Nancy Verner. He is an A & B student and his best subjects in school are math and English. TJ accomplishes all of this while overcoming surgeries for bone tumors since he was born, Nancy Verner said.
