3. Children in the Grade Start Readiness Program will put on the play The Hungry Catepillar at 10:45 a.m. today in the gym. The children are nearing the end of a five-week summer program.

4. Here's a reminder that the  is collecting school supplies for needy children in a drop box at  until Aug. 19. The department is also collecting gently used backpacks to stuff new supplies in for the students.
5. Mark your calendar for Aug. 17 if you'd like to voice your opinions on a professional baseball team revamping the City Park ball field for its games. The informational meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
