Moms Talk: What Do You Think of Clawson Schools' Decision to Lay Off Teachers?

Tell us your thoughts about the School Board's decision Monday night to lay off 15 teachers.

The Clawson School Board , effective June 30, due to a projected loss in federal and state funding this year.

The district expects to lose about $900,000 in federal funding and $700 per pupil in state funding, said Gary Jackson, the district's business services director.

Jackson said cutting teachers will help the district offset the lost funding by about $75,000 per teacher.
