More Than 1K DTE Customers Without Power in Clawson

More than one thousand DTE customers are without power Friday, after Thursday night's high winds.
According to the energy company's outage map, the outages are in the area north of 14 Mile Road and west of Livernois.
DTE expects power to be restored around 11:30 p.m. Friday, and auto-protection devices are listed as the cause of the outage.
The devices kick in when some sort of interference comes in contact with power lines, such as an animal or tree branches, according to the DTE website.
Clawson High School is closed today due to the outages, according to WDIV.
