Photos: Miss Princess Pageant Contestants to Take the Stage
Ten girls age 5-7 will compete in the annual Clawson Miss Princess pageant on Saturday.

The Clawson Miss Princess pageant contestants are gearing up for the annual pageant at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Performing Arts Center.
The contestants, ages 5-7, will compete in several categories for the crown: personal interview before the pageant, introduction, talent, casual wear, formal wear and final questions. There will also be special awards for Most Photogenic, Best Artist, Most Promising Model, Peopleβs Choice Award, Talent, Miss Congeniality, Best Peopleβs Choice Award Bank and others.

Pageant director Linda Gould saidΒ each girl has a sponsor who helps pay for pageant fees that buy prizes, gifts bags and other items. The goal of the pageant is to help build self-confidence in young girls and teach them skills to succeed in life.
The girls have been rehearsing for the pageant since the second week of September, Gould said.

"These are a good group of girls," Gould said.
The pageant winners have the privilege of wearing the crown for an entire year while participating in various community activities.
Admission for this event is $10. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Clawson Educational Enrichment Fund, Friends of Blair Memorial Library, and the Young Miss Clawson Pageant, Jr. Miss Clawson Pageant, and .
The celebrity judge for this year's pageant is Andrea Isom of Fox 2 News. The emcee is Christy Stachel, Miss Clawson 2006 and the dance choreographer is Chrissie Maciejewski, Miss Clawson 1999.
The Young Miss Clawson Pageant, ages 8-11, will take place at 7 p.m. Oct. 22 at Clawson High School.
