Remember George Clooney in Clawson? 'The Ides of March' Hits Theaters
Locals are excited to see the scenes filmed in Clawson and Bloomfield Hills earlier this year.
Earlier this year, movie starΒ Β as he shot scenes of his movie TheΒ Ides of March along 14 Mile. Today, you'll be able to see this small town on the big screen as the movie hits theaters across the country.Β
"It's our claim to fame," Mayor Penny Luebs said. "I'm thrilled."
TheΒ Ides of MarchΒ is a political drama about a presidential campaign starring Clooney as Gov. Mike Morris, Ryan Gosling as Stephen Meyers and Marisa Tomei as Ida Horowicz. Clooney is also the film's director.

The film crew was in Clawson on March 18 and the movie set attracted hundreds of excited fans from the area. The crew rented to shoot scenes and also did some filming outside Oak Professional Center on 14 Mile Road east of Crooks Road.
Arsin Hergkja, co-owner of Nick's Country Oven, said Clooney's movie release has been the talk of the restaurant all week.

"It feels good to be in the Hollywood spotlight," Hergkja said. "Iβm very excited. It's something very unusual."
You can also expect to see some local faces in the movie. Clawson resident Janna Bissett plays an extra in a funeral scene that was filmed at Christ Church Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills. She spent five days on the movie set.
"I am so excited to see it," Bissett said. "It's just exciting to see the scenes that you know you got to be around."
