Weekend Planner: City Wide Garage Sale, Car Wash, Farmers Market and More

Here's a roundup of weekend happenings in Clawson and surrounding areas.

Residents throughout Clawson will have garage sales at their homes during the City Wide Garage Sale from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday-Sunday. A few residents announced their garage sales on the Clawson Patch Facebook page. Here are some addresses you can stop by to search for treasures: 845 High St., 734 W. Baker, 1440 N. Bywood, 331 E. Baker, 526 Park Dr. and 357 Massoit.

The Clawson Goodfellows will hold their annual car wash from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the . One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the Goodfellows, who raise money and collect donations throughout the year to help Clawson families in need during the holiday season.

The Clawson Farmers Market kicks off this Sunday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at City Park. The market will be open every Sunday through Sept. 18. Vendors come from throughout the Metro Detroit area and beyond. Seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables will be available from Michigan farmers, and area businesses often attend the Farmers Market as food vendors or for marketing purposes. Occasionally, the market features live entertainment and children's activities.

The Ferndale Live Green Fair runs from 5-9 p.m. Friday, from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and from noon-5 p.m. Sunday from noon-5 p.m. on Nine Mile Road at Woodward Avenue in downtown Ferndale. A free veggie taste fair will include 20 vegetarian and vegan options, and a green art section will focuse on healthful green living, information regarding home needs and energy conservation, live music, a holistic enlightenment section, speakers and fun for the children.

offers a bargain night for scrappers who are looking for some "me" time. The event is held from 4 p.m.-midnight every Friday at the store, which will even let you use its Cricut cartridges  for free. The evening offers great fellowship of other scrappers and crafters and a chance for you to work on your projects. Beverages and snacks are included in the $7 fee.
