Weekend Planner: Kids Workshops, Karaoke and Arts, Beats & Eats
Five things you should do Labor Day weekend.
1. Karaoke Night
Test your singing skills Friday and Saturday nights at with some of the best karaoke in town. The fun begins at 8 p.m., and there is no cover charge.
2. Children's Magic Class: Coins I
will host a Children's Magic Class 10-11 a.m. Saturday for children ages 7-13. The class is taught by an accomplished magician. You can purchase six classes for $100 and use them any time within six months.
3. Family Fun Bowling
Thunderbird Lanes, 400 W. Maple Rd. in Troy, hosts a Family Fun Night 6-8:30 p.m. on Saturdays. There will be colored pin bowling for prizes and other fun games along the way. Music is toned down and "mom approved." The cost is $25 per lane or $7 per person, $1 shoe rental.

4. Arts, Beats & Eats
Royal Oak will host the annual Arts, Beats & Eats festival Friday-Monday. There will be more than 200 performances, a fine arts show, local restaurants and more. More details at artsbeatseats.com.
5. Home Depot Workshop
Home Depot, 660 W. 12 Mile Rd. in Madison Heights, is offering a free activity 9 a.m.-noon Saturday for children who are 5-12 years old. The kids workshop focuses on constructing anΒ ESPN College Game Day Board that kids can take home. Kids also receive a free workshop apron, certificate of achievement and commemorative pin.
