Whiz Kids: Tech Co-Ops Help with New Equipment
Students remove and replace computers in labs and schools.

Accomplishment: The students have worked all summer to help the schools' technology department with installation of new computers at each school. They are part of a paid co-op program in the district and work 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Thursday.

Key to Awesomeness: The students are responsible for removing old computers, preparing classrooms and labs for new computers, unpackaging computers, uploading new software.
Technology director Marcus Isabell said this is the first time the school has had technology co-ops since 2003.

"It’s a very, very good experience for the students," Isabell said.
Math teacher Ryan Brinks selected the students before the end of the school year and asked if they were interested.
The co-ops say they think it's "awesome" that Clawson schools will have new computers in the fall.
"I like (the co-op program)," Peterson said. "It's fun."
