Chesterfield police say the accident, which trapped a 47-year-old woman and her three children, ages 2, 14 and 15, in their vehicle, took place shortly before 7 a.m. on 23 Mile Road east of I-94.

Officers believe Ostipow, who was driving on a suspended license and had a preliminary blood alcohol content of 0.25, lost control of his vehicle while driving westbound on 23 Mile Road and struck the family’s vehicle coming in the opposite direction.
