Baker College Named One of America's Top Military-Friendly Colleges and Universities
Baker College Online was one of eight Michigan institutions recognized in Military Advanced Education's 2013 Guide to Military-Friendly Colleges & Universities.

Evaluated on four military-friendly categories, Baker College Online was one of only eight Michigan institutions of higher education to be recognized in Military Advanced Education's 2013 Guide to Military-Friendly Colleges & Universities.
With 13 campuses across the state, including one in Clinton Township, the college was also the only non four-year institution to make the guide in Michigan.
"This is a great honor. Baker College Online offers many benefits to individuals with military experience, including waived application fee, reduced tuition and lifetime career services," said Shawn A. Mann, director of Military and Veteran Education Programs for Baker. "All of our efforts are aimed at helping our members from all branches of the armed forces obtain a quality higher education degree."

Published since 2005, Military Advanced Education serves the country's education service officers, transition officers and other top level commands who work with servicemembers, veterans, and their families during active duty, transition, and post-transition to optimize their armed forces educational benefits, according to a press release.
The guide is compiled based on the results of a questionnaire concerning military-friendly policies at more than 300 institutions across the U.S. Institutions are evaluated in four areas, which include:

- Support: on-campus child care, on-campus veterans center, faculty trained in veteran reintegration issues, full-time counselors trained in veteran-specific mental health concerns
- Financial: in-state tuition for active duty servicemembers, Yellow Ribbon program, veteran work-study program, military student-specific scholarships, tuition discounts/scholarships for dependents
- Military Culture:Â on-campus ROTC, MyCAA approved, membership in Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges
- Flexibility: online learning options, extent of transfer credits accepted by degree level, presence on military installations
