Block Party Murder: Suspect Arrested In Illinois Motel
Police have arrested the man accused of killing someone at a block party this month after finding him just outside of Chicago.

MT. CLEMENS, MI — The man suspected of fatally shooting a man and injuring a woman at a block party in Mount Clemens has been found just outside of Chicago and arrested, according to authorities. The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office issued a five-count warrant for the arrest of 25-year-old Perry Bernard Rouse Jr., including a life felony for premeditated murder and several felony firearm warrants.
After several days of searching he was taken into custody by the United States Marshal Service Great Lakes Task Force at a Motel 6 in Harvey, Ill. on July 7.
Police say 17 spent casings were located at the scene near Court and Clemens streets after the July 5 shooting and that they from three different caliber weapons.
Clinton Township resident Charlie McGowan, 24, died after being shot in the stomach. He was reportedly standing outside when he was shot.
A 26-year-old woman, also from Clinton Township, was shot in the leg while inside of a vehicle. She is reportedly recovering.
