Clinton Township Supervisor Honored
Clinton Township Supervisor Bob Cannon was recently honored for his work with the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — Clinton Township Supervisor Bob Cannon recently took home a leadership award. The honor comes in recognition of Cannon’s work in regional affairs via the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments. He received the award from the National Association of Regional Councils at its recent conference in California.
“I thought they were kind of kidding,” said Cannon, who walked up to the podium and gave a short speech to thank the residents of Clinton Township and southeast Michigan, as well as his fellow members on the Township Board of Trustees. NARC and SEMCOG are “doing the same thing I am:
Trying to make local communities and regions work,” he said.
Cannon, who has been supervisor since 2000, played major roles in the forming of the Clinton-Macomb Public Library and in making Clinton Township the first “Welcoming Township” in the United States.
