CVHS Opens 2012 Football Season at Wayne State Today

Dig out your pom poms and don your red and white, Chippewa Valley High School opens its 2012 football season today.

will face Dearborn High School in the Detroit Sports Commission Prep Kickoff Classic at Wayne State University. Formerly known as the Big Day Prep Showdown, the Prep Kickoff Classic will be held at Tom Adams Field on the campus of Wayne State Aug. 24 and 25.

The Big Reds and Pioneers will play the first game of the two-day event, taking the field at 4:30 p.m. today. This is considered a home game for CVHS.

Other season openers include:

• Aug. 24, 7 p.m. – vs. Yale at Yale
• Aug. 25, 1:30 p.m. – Eisenhower vs. Port Huron at Wayne State University
