Detroit Lions Play Minnesota Vikings On Thanksgiving: Game Info

The Lions will look to sweep the season series from the Vikings when they play on Thanksgiving Day.

It wasn’t pretty, but the Detroit Lions stayed in the hunt for a NFC North title Sunday by edging the Chicago Bears, 27-24 at Soldier Field. Matt Prater nailed a 52-yard field goal to preserve the victory — which completed a rare divisional road sweep for the Lions this season.

Now 6-4, the Lions trail their Thanksgiving Day opponent Minnesota Vikings (8-2) by two games. The Vikings have won six straight since Detroit beat them 14-7 on Oct. 1.

The Lions defense has been suspect of late, leaving Quarterback Matt Stafford and the offense to carry the load. Stafford is have an excellent season, ranking fourth in the NFL in passing yards and third in touchdown passes.
