Man Sentenced to Minimum of 20 Years for Raping, Robbing Elderly Clinton Township Woman
The sentencing took place in Macomb County Circuit Court.

The 31-year-old man accused of raping an 80-year-old woman in 2011 during an armed robbery at her Clinton Township apartment will spend at least the next couple decades behind bars.
An apologetic William Harrison, of Sterling Heights, was sentenced to 20 to 48 years Wednesday before Macomb County Circuit Judge Mark Switalski in Mount Clemens, The Macomb Daily reports.
Harrison pleaded guilty Feb. 19 to first-degree home invasion, first-degree criminal sexual assault and armed robbery, according to court records.

He would have faced a maximum of life imprisonment upon conviction.
Harrison, who was on probation for previous crimes, entered the victim's Heritage Estates apartment the evening of Sept. 13, 2011 through an unlocked patio door. He forced her to open a safe and later sexually assaulted her before fleeing the scene with jewelry and a laptop, according to police.
