Marijuana misspelling alerts police to man’s fake medical card

Between the expiration date and misspelling of the word “marijuana,” police had little difficulty recognizing that a 20-year-old Clinton Township man’s medical marijuana card was a fake.

Responding to a report of a suspicious person Feb. 25 in the 20000 block of S. Miles Street, police met the 20-year-old who told them he had been “just walking” in the area.

He submitted to a search and was found with a baggie of marijuana in his sock, according to police. The man produced a medical marijuana card, but police noticed that not only was it expired, it also had the word marijuana spelled wrong.
