Perceived Threat Prompts Closure of 3 L'Anse Creuse Schools
L'Anse Creuse High School, L'Anse Creuse Middle School-Central and Graham Elementary were closed Tuesday.

L’Anse Creuse Public Schools closed three of its Harrison Township buildings Tuesday after a custodian reported the presence of a man in army uniform at the high school.
L’Anse Creuse High School, Middle School Central and Graham Elementary were closed and high school students en route to the school via bus transported to a “safe location” until the decision was made to close the school, according to Kelly Allen, director for Public and Community Relations. Â
The man is reportedly an employee at nearby Selfridge Air National Guard Base and had gone to the high school to speak with a counselor before classes started Tuesday morning. He left at the request of a custodian in the building and police were notified, Allen said.

Macomb County sheriff's officers searched the building and determined there was no danger. The decision to close the three schools was made prior to administrators learning that police had taken the man into custody.
Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham told WJBK-TVÂ that the man was a 21-year-old former student and airman at the base. He was questioned and released.Â
