Search On for Man Caught Masturbating, Photographing Girls at Partridge Creek

Mall cops see man masturbating, photographing girls at Partridge Creek
On Aug. 26 at approximately 4:22 p.m., loss prevention personnel began following a Hispanic male who was masturbating and taking pictures of young girls in the area of Nordstrom in The Mall at Partridge Creek.
Mall security called police because they had observed him doing the same thing by the stage in the mall’s courtyard.

Police were unable to apprehend the suspect, who is described as being in his late 30s and around 5 feet 4 inches tall.
There have been no arrests at this time.

$8,500 Rolex, 2012 Ford Fusion stolen from Concorde Inn guest
On Aug. 28, a guest at the Concorde Inn at 44315 Gratiot reported someone had broken into his gym locker and stolen several items, including an $8,500 Rolex watch and the keys to his silver, 2012 Ford Fusion that was also stolen.
The man told police he believed his locker had been broken into between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Aug. 28. Also reported missing was $50 in cash, two credit cards, the man’s ID and an Apple iPhone worth $600.
The keys to the man’s car were also missing and when he went to the parking lot to check, he discovered his vehicle had also been stolen.
There are no suspects at this time.
Would-be shoplifter assaults Target employee
On Aug. 27, at approximately 4:20 p.m., a 45-year-old man was arrested after assaulting a Target employee who attempted to stop him from shoplifting, according to the police report.
Loss prevention officers saw the man attempt to leave the store without paying for the T-shirts and men’s underwear he took. When officers tried to stop him, he pushed a female employee to the ground and began to kick and stomp on her.
The man was finally controlled and arrested when police arrived.
Fake bomb forces evacuation of Garfield strip mall
On Aug. 22, at approximately 7:41 p.m., police responded to a report of a bomb outside Bulk Foods on Garfield.
Police describe the device as two cans taped together with a circuit board and a plastic bag on top. The item was found near some flower pots outside the door of Bulk Foods, according to police.
The area was taped off and businesses in the strip mall evacuated. The Michigan State Police bomb squad determined that the bomb was not functional and dismantled it.
There have been no arrests at this time.
Thieves steal lawn equipment from Joy Community Church
On Aug. 28, the pastor of Joy Community Church at 35531 Utica Road reported several pieces of lawn equipment had been stolen from a shed on church property.
The theft is believed to have occurred sometime overnight between Aug. 27 and Aug. 28.
The pastor told police that when he went to the church at 9 a.m. he noticed the riding lawnmower parked in front of the shed at the back of the property. He checked the shed and found it open and empty, with the lock missing.
The suspect or suspects stole a blower, weed whacker, lawnmower and five gallons of gas, according to the police report.
Swerving driver stopped with marijuana, signs of cocaine
On Aug. 28, at approximately 4:26 p.m., a Clinton Township officer stopped a vehicle in the area of Metro Parkway and Groesbeck that had reportedly been swerving on Metro Parkway.
The driver denied using drugs or alcohol and told the officer the reason for her bad driving was due to the vehicle having bad brakes. The driver admitted to using prescription medication and submitted to a sobriety test, on which she did poorly.
The officer searched the woman’s vehicle and found a short straw with cocaine residue on it and a marijuana cigarette in a cigarette pack. The woman admitted to smoking marijuana recently but said the straw wasn’t hers, according to the police report.
The woman was arrested.
Lotto tickets, cash, smokes stolen in Marathon Gas Station break-in
On Aug. 28, at approximately 3:33 a.m., officers responded to a report of breaking and entering at the Marathon Gas Station at 38430 Garfield.
The station’s owner told police he found cigarettes, cigars, lottery tickets and $200 cash missing from the store, according to the police report.
Police believe the suspect broke a glass door to gain entry to the building.
Surveillance video shows a black male suspect wearing dark jeans, a dark shirt, white mask, brown boots and blue medical gloves. The suspect fled the store in a small car, according to the police report.
There have been no arrests at this time.
