Speeding Trio Leads Clinton Township Police on Chase into St. Clair Shores

Two teens were arrested Feb. 9 after police say they, and a third individual, refused to pull over for a traffic stop in Clinton Township. The trio lead police on a chase into St. Clair Shores, where they crashed their vehicle into another car and fled on foot.Β
A Clinton Township officer patrolling the area of Harper and Quinn Road around 1:22 a.m. Feb. 9 attempted to pull the trio over for reckless driving and driving without a headlight βΒ the car was speeding and swerving onto the curb and snow was also covering the license plate, according to the police report.
The driver refused to stop when the officer activated his lights and siren and sped down Harper, turning onto Donaldson and heading into St. Clair Shores. Leaving the car in drive, the three suspects fled on foot as their car crashed into a parked vehicle on the street, according to the police report.

Tracing a set of footprints to a home in the 23000 block of Cottrell, police located one of the vehicleβs 17-year-old passengers. The teen was arrested on a warrant he had out of Fraser, police say.
A second passenger, an 18-year-old male, was chased on foot. The teen fell during the chase and received several cuts to his face, which police say were stitched at local hospital. He was arrested for resisting and obstructing arrest and minor in possession of alcohol, according to police.

Police say they have identified the third passenger, but have not made an arrest.Β
The vehicle used in the chase was leant to one of the teens and later reported stolen, according to police. St. Clair Shores police also took part in the chase.
