County Executive Mark Hackel said the economy continues to prosper with defense, automotive and healthcare leading the way.

MACOMB COUNTY, MI β Despite a pair of ongoing public scandals with former and current politicians, median income is up 9 percent in Macomb County. The defense and healthcare industries are on the upswing and automotive companies continue to invest in county communities.
Improved technology is coming to county operations. These are just a few of the things that are going right, Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel said in his state of the county address Wednesday night, according to a Macomb Daily report.
βWe could be living in the best times Macomb County has ever seen,β he said at the Macomb Center for Performing Arts.
βI would like to believe these indictments are giving comfort and assurance to the public that itβs OK to come forward,β Hackel said, βknowing that there are public officials out there who will not only listen, but act to put an end to this.β
