Teen Shot, Injured During Metro Detroit Tree Lighting Ceremony: Police
Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident and not targeted against the tree lighting ceremony.
CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — A teenager was shot and injured during a tree lighting ceremony at a metro Detroit shopping center on Sunday, according to police.
The shooting happened at 7:13 p.m. near the MJR Theater at the Partridge Creek Mall in Clinton Township, according to police.
Police said two groups of people were arguing outside the entrance to the theater when shots were fired, striking a 17-year-old. The teen was taken to a nearby hospital and listed in stable condition, according to police.

Police described the shooter as a man wearing a green hooded-sweatshirt with white flowers, jeans, and tennis shoes. He was last seen running from the mall to the west.
