Veteran Clinton Twp. Spelling Bee Champs Look to Capture 2013 Regional Title
Capturing their school crowns, Benjamin Leflar and Morgan Listenbee are among only seven local students slated to make return appearances at The Macomb Daily Regional Spelling Bee.

Clinton Township residents Benjamin Leflar and Morgan Listenbee are no strangers to The Macomb Daily Regional Spelling Bee.
Seventh-grade students at Wyandot Middle School and Prevail Academy, both Leflar and Listenbee competed in the bee last year and, having captured their schools' respective titles, are due to take part in the annual event again this Sunday, according to The Macomb Daily.
Of the 75 fifth- through eight-grade students slated to advance to The Macomb Daily Spelling Bee this year, only seven are "veterans" of the competition.

Morgan, who will make her third-straight appearance at The Macomb Daily bee, the newspaper that she expects "a lot of competition," but plans to make the best of whatever happens.
The winner of the regional bee, which takes place Sunday, Feb. 24, at the Macomb Center for Performing Arts in Clinton Township, will earn one of 278 spots at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.

The national competition is scheduled for May 28-30.
Last year, Macomb Township's Nathaniel F. Britton became the youngest winner in The Macomb Daily Spelling Bee's history and went on to compete in Washington.
