So what is Patch?

Every editor defines Patch a little differently, but for me, it is simply a new platform to access and share the news that matters most to you. News that it rooted in the community in which you live.

It's place where Clinton Township residents can come together to discuss the day's news, share their events and announcements, find and review local businesses, and interact with their neighbors.

We at Patch are professional journalists who love our communities and now have the great fortune to profile the people and cover the events and issues at the heart of our hometowns.

I've always believed that every person and every thing has a story waiting to be told, and for the past 20 years, I have been learning them as a resident of Clinton Township. But with almost 100,000 residents now living in our fair city, I'll need your help to highlight those stories most important to you.

Clinton Township Patch is meant to be much more than a one-sided conversation. It is built to serve as a forum for discussion about the community, by the community. With a few clicks, you can send in news tips, comment on stories and share your thoughts and concerns with the people who are likely to have the same stake in those issues as you (i.e. your neighbors).

Interacting with the Clinton Township Patch is easy and free. However, we do ask you enter your e-mail address and create a profile before sharing content, but only because we don't allow anonymous users. Your e-mail address won't be published, and won't be used by advertisers. You can also sign up for daily and weekly e-mail newsletters, as well breaking news alerts.

If you have a story idea, a comment or a concern, you can e-mail me at jenny.whalen@patch.com or call at (586) 764-3791. We're also keeping the conversation going on Facebook and Twitter.

So spend a few minutes, or hours, perusing Clinton Township Patch. Until we meet again ...

Your friend and neighbor,

Jenny Whalen
