What Should Move Into the Former Papa Johns Store on Garfield?

Despite its name, community planning is not always a community-wide effort. We're going to change that–even if it's just in theory–here on Patch.

Taking a 21st-century spin on community planning, Patch is putting everything on the digital drawingboard and asking residents to share their visions for vacant properties in town.

Each week we'll present a new vacant building and ask you to tell us what you think would be the best use. Forget what zone it's in, ignore setback regulations, dump lot coverage rules and all the other zoning jargon that puts most people to sleep. If you had your way, what would you like to see there? What would be the best use for the community?

Last week we asked readers to come up with new uses for the former Huntington Bank office at 20650 Hall Rd. One suggestion came from Patch reader Chris Michalec who says he'd like to see a "mom and pop ice cream store/parlor with 'Happy Days' style seating and music." A place where families and communities could come together for a social atmosphere. 

This week we turn our attention to the former Papa Johns location at 41660 Garfield Rd. The pizza shop has been closed for almost two years.
