Three from Branch County arrested, face charges in weekend drug bust (wwmt.com) — Law enforcement searched several Coldwater homes early Saturday on East Chicago Street, Smith Street and West Colon Road, seizing suspected cocaine, meth, drug-distribution materials and a gun. Two men and a woman from Coldwater were arrested, and Branch County authorities say more charges against additional suspects are expected as the investigation continues.
   

2. Coldwater City Council approves changing city elections to even years (wtvbam.com) — Coldwater’s City Council has approved shifting city elections from odd to even years, a move expected to boost turnout and save about $18,000 every two years. If the Michigan Secretary of State signs off, council and mayoral terms will each be extended by a year to align with the new cycle. Local officials say combining with statewide elections should increase participation and cut administrative costs.
   

3. CCS Board of Education approves Browne Aquatic Center contract extension (wtvbam.com) — Coldwater Community Schools has approved a three-year extension for Hampton Aquatics and Fitness to keep managing the Dr. Robert W. Browne Aquatic Center, which the city owns but schools operate. The move follows concerns about the pool losing more than $300,000 annually and is part of a broader five-year agreement between the City of Coldwater and the district to stabilize operations.
   

4. Coldwater Legg Middle School Polar Bear girls swim teams earn split with Battle Creek Central (wtvbam.com) — Coldwater Legg Middle School’s Polar Bear girls swim team opened their home season with a strong 82–49 win over Battle Creek Central, highlighted by multiple first-place finishes from several swimmers. The boys team battled hard but came up short despite standout swims from Griffin Lanning and Jonah Weber. Local families can celebrate a big night for Coldwater’s young athletes.
