• How Michigan's McKenna Schummer's legacy is spreading joy to kids in hospitals nationwide (metroparent.com) — A Davison girl’s love of makeup has grown into McKenna’s Beauty Bar, now comforting young patients at Children’s Hospital of Michigan and 30 hospitals nationwide. After McKenna Schummer passed away in 2018, her family and partners like Ford Philanthropy helped turn her idea into beauty bars and self-care boxes that bring joy, confidence, and normalcy to hospitalized kids. Local residents can support the growing effort online or through the annual McKenna’s Squad 5K.
