  • First up is the official Halloween date. Dearborn in the past has been named one of metro Detroit’s best communities to trick-or-treat in and Halloween this year falls on a Wednesday. There’s no official hours, city officials said, but the sun sets around 6:45 p.m. this time of the year.
  • Trick-or-treating will also be held at the Historical Museum on Oct. 26. Join in the fun 4-6 p.m. that night. The event is geared especially for pre-school aged children, organizers say.
  • Trick-or-Treat in Downtown Dearborn is set for Saturday, Oct. 27. The times in West Downtown are 3 - 5 p.m. while East Downtown trick-or-treating runs 5 - 7 p.m. Children and pets are encouraged to dress in costumes and trick-or-treat throughout the city’s downtown areas.

Paranormal Activity

Are you into ghosts and other things outside of the human realm? The Historical Museum’s events on Oct. 26-27 may be for you. The Great Lakes Apparition Seekers Paranormal Event runs 7 p.m. to midnight Oct. 26 and 27 and the cost is $40. Click here for tickets.

Get crafty with kids

The Dearborn Public Library has several activities planned, focusing around crafts. Kids can draw spooky trees, attend a zombie party this season or make their own “decaying friend.” Take a look at the calendar to register for an event.

Carve a pumpkin

Join Downtown Dearborn for a pumpkin carving event on Saturday, October 20 from 1 - 3 p.m. at City Hall Park. Community members of all ages will be provided a pumpkin on a first-come, first-served basis. Once your pumpkin is complete, your festive decoration will help "spookify" City Hall Park.

Spooky Park & Storytelling

Join in for some haunted happenings on Saturday, Oct. 27 at the City Hall Artspace Lofts. Don’t miss their Haunted Hallways 4 - 7 p.m. or spooky storytelling 7 - 8 p.m. in City Hall Park when residents of City Hall Artspace Lofts transform the Hallways and City Hall Park into a Spooky Park featuring an eerie tunnel, a trail of jack o' lanterns and activities for kids. Story time will kick off at 7 p.m.

Go on a Halloween adventure

Halloween Weekends at Camp Dearborn continue October 19-22 and 26-28. Families are invited to join these special weekends of Halloween fun with contests involving pumpkin-carving, costumes and campsite decorations, as well as a scavenger hunt, and the traditional door-to-door or campsite-to-campsite begging for candy.

Tents and cabins are available, as well as campsites for campers with their own tent, RV or pop-up. A two-night stay is required, and in-season rates apply. For more information, call our Camp Office in Milford at (248) 684-6000 or (313) 943-2076.
