Arty Party Kicks off Dearborn’s April Arts Month

A fun Arty Party will be held 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 4 to kick off a month of special April Arts Dearborn festivities that shine a spotlight on the city’s creative community.

The Arty Party offers an exciting evening of fine art, entertainment and delicious food at the Black Box Gallery, 3700 Monroe Street.

Amidst artwork by The Detroit Society of Women Painters and Sculptors, Arty Party guests will enjoy sampling the cuisine of a variety of participating Dearborn restaurants.Coordinated by the Dearborn Community Fund, the Arty Party is a fundraiser for April Arts Dearborn, supporting cultural art programs across the city throughout the month of April. Tickets are $25 and include one complementary beverage and food.

April Arts Dearborn

Many April Arts Dearborn events are free of charge while some, including the Arty Party, require tickets.In addition to the April 4 Arty Party, April Arts Dearborn events include a free Gallery Rally on Saturday, April 6, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. featuring exhibits at 10 art galleries across Dearborn.

Participants can drive themselves or take the free shuttle sponsored by Chariot Transport, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. (every half hour), from the west parking lot at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center.On Wednesday, April 10, at 7 p.m. the public is invited to attend the free Mayor’s Arts Awards featuring entertainment and afterglow honoring local artists at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center.
