Candyman Arrested for Stealing Chocolate from Walmart

A 34-year-old Detroit man was arrested in Dearborn on Oct. 16 for attempting to steal $60 worth of candy bars from Walmart, located at 5851 Mercury Drive.

According to reports, store security officers told police that they observed the man select five boxes of candy and leave the store without attempting to pay for the merchandise.

Security said the man was stopped on Oct. 15 as well and received a verbal warning for attempting to steal $26 worth of candy.

The man said he was taking the candy to sell individual bars outside of Comerica Park for the Detroit Tigers game.

Police arrested the man and took him to the Dearborn Police Department. He was booked on charges of second degree retail fraud and given a $500 bond due to previous convictions.
