Editor's note: This press release was submitted by the city of Dearborn.
The city of Dearborn will be applying an herbicide to control broadleaf weeds and dandelions at city parks the week of Sept. 16-20. This is an annual process.
Park attendees are advised that the herbicide has a pungent odor and they should avoid contact with grass until the herbicide has dried, which usually is about an hour after application.
The herbicide used is the same that homeowners can purchase at local home and garden stores. All park entrances will be marked with a notice alerting residents that the herbicide has been applied.
