Dearborn Celebrates April Arts Month With Gallery Crawl, Concerts

See what's in store for Dearborn's month-long celebration, shining a spotlight on the city's cultural life.

DEARBORN, MI β€” Dearborn is celebrating the community’s rich cultural life by designating April as Arts Month across the city. Severa events are planned, from a gallery crawl to local concerts. Festivities begin April 2.

Gallery Rally, April 2-7

Arts Month begins with Gallery Rally week, featuring eight participating galleries with a self-guided crawl throughout each one slated for April 7. Galleries taking part are the Padzieski Gallery, Arab American National Museum, ArtSpace, Green Brain Comics, Rotunda Gallery (at the Centennial Library), Sisson Gallery at Henry Ford College, Berkowitz Gallery at the University of Michigan-Dearborn and the Glass Academy. Installations will include work from local artists and noteworthy national collections. Admission is free to each site.

Mayor’s Arts Awards, April 10

This annual awards ceremony is set for 7 p.m. at The Center and celebrates individuals and organizations around the community that promote the arts. Admission is free to this event, presented by the Dearborn Community Arts Council.

β€œBest of Broadway” concert, April 13

The Dearborn Symphony will feature is β€œBest of Broadway” POPS concert with favorites from 70 years of Tony Award-winning musicals, along with salutes to the Players Guild of Dearborn and Noretta Dunworth, both celebrating 90 years. Tickets are available for the 8 p.m. performance for various prices at The Center Box Office or online at www.dearbornsymphony.org.

Youth Arts Festival and Collage Concert, April 25

Dearborn students will shine at the annual Youth Arts Festival at The Center. This free event will showcase the work of hundreds of local artists from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. concert, which offers a variety of vocal, instrumental and theater performances. This event is free and open to the public.
