Dearborn Fire Department Receives FEMA Grant
"The top priority of the fire department is our residents' safety and protection," said Fire Chief Joseph Murray.
DEARBORN, MI β The Dearborn Fire Department recently received FEMA's Assistance to Firefighters Grant in the amount of $385,413.
"The City of Dearborn is proud to be able to offer its residents with high-quality and well-funded public safety resources. The allocation of this recent grant means that the Fire Department has been awarded a more than $13 million in grant funds since 2013," the city said in a news release.
Funds from the FEMA grant will be used to cover training and equipment for the department.

More than $162,000 will be applied toward training, which includes:
β’ Incident Safety Officer Course
β’ Special Operations Technician Course
β’ Fire Officer/Supervisor Course
β’ Firefighter Safety and Survival Course
$222,500 will be used for equipment, such as:
β’ Nozzles and water appliances
β’ Ladders
β’ Radio headsets
β’ SCBA fill station
β’ Power saws
β’ Positive pressure fans
