Dearborn Foster Mom Helps Reunite Kids With Their family: Local Hero

DEARBORN, MI — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Why do you believe the local hero should be recognized or honored?

My sister became a single foster parent in 2016, while holding a full time job working with special needs students for Dearborn public schools. Since then she has taken in 12 foster children and helped reunite them with their biological family! She saw the need for more foster homes especially Muslim homes! She also tries to spread the awareness of the increasing number of kids in the system that are from our community and they need ppl to help because it truly takes a village to help these children who’ve already seen to much! She loves them as if they were hers! And the love and help doesn’t end when they leave her home! As she likes to say once they live with her they become family! Linda has never regretted becoming a foster parent abd actually I’m in awe of what she’s doing I SEE the results abd the children love her! I can go on for ever about my sister you will feel it once you meet her! Thank you
