Dearborn Gallery Crawl Features 9 Spots For Art Lovers

The second annual April Arts Month features the Gallery Rally April 7. Here's your schedule to take part.

DEARBORN, MI β€” Spotlighting the arts and cultural community of Dearborn, the second annual Dearborn Gallery Rally will show off the city’s talent on April 7 with a self-guided tour exploring each of the city’s arts-centric spots. It’s part of a month-long celebration of the arts in Dearborn and is free to the community. Each gallery will feature a unique exhibit, open to the public, and some feature interactive events and performances.

Attendees can check out a few or join them all. Here’s an outline of the Gallery Rally:

  • This year’s gallery crawl will begin with the Henry Ford College’s Annual Student Art Exhibition at their Sisson Gallery from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • The Glass Academy will feature glassblowing and special tours from noon to 4 p.m.
  • UM-Dearborn’s Alfred Berkowitz Gallery will present artist Dave Acosta in live demonstrations from 2-5 p.m. as part of their current exhibit β€œZap! Pow! Bam! The Art of the Comic Book Cover.”
  • The Dearborn Public School Teachers Art Show will be at the Henry Ford Centennial Library’s Rotunda Gallery from 3-5 p.m.
  • The Arab American National Museum Gallery will feature a mural making project along with their exhibition β€œAn Exploration of Art & Humanity by Nabil Mousa” from 4-6 p.m.
  • The Padzieski Art Gallery in the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center will be offering β€œArt & Appetizers” from 5-7 p.m. in conjunction with their three artist exhibition, β€œRock - Paper - Paintbrush.”
  • The Old City Hall Artspace Lofts Galleries will present β€œAn Evening of Spring Art” by their resident artists along with an exhibit of artwork from Dearborn Public School students from 6-8 p.m.
  • The Rally continues with Green Brain Comics and their β€œForms of Fandom” exhibition from 7-9 p.m.
  • The crawl ends with the last addition to this year’s festivities, the Pop-Up Gallery at 3700 Monroe (at Carlysle) offering an β€œArty Party” after party from 8-11 p.m.
