DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI β A beloved Dearborn Heights principal was reinstated Wednesday night during a rowdy school board meeting.
Annapolis High School Principal Aaron Mollett was suspended two weeks ago without an explanation. Superintendent Tyrone Weeks told parents in an email the district was conducting an investigation, but the email didn't share details.
The move sparked an outcry in the community as an online petition demanding that Mollett be reinstated gained more than 1,000 signatures. Students at the high school also walked out of the building last week for roughly 90 minutes in protest.

Community members and parents filled the auditorium Wednesday night and slammed school. officials for the handling of the Mollett situation for more than four hours during public comment. One woman was even escorted out of the meeting for constantly interrupted speakers.
After the vote to reinstate Mollett, a second vote passed placing Weeks on administrative leave to allow the district to look into three Title IX complaints and one civil rights complaint against Weeks.
