Dearborn Mayor Honoring Arts Community April 10
A select group of artists enriching Dearborn's cultural life will be awarded at a ceremony April 10. Everyone is invited.

DEARBORN, MI β The city of Dearborn believes art enriches the lives of its residents and thereβs a group of select few who worked all year round last year to bring culture to their community. On April 10, the 30th annual Mayorβs Arts Awards will be held inside Studio A at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center. The ceremony starts at 7 p.m. and is free to attend.
The winners are being honored by Mayor John O'Reilly Jr. for their work in the arts in 2017 and include individuals and organizations. Hereβs the full list of honorees:
- Volunteer Award: David Wood
- Artist Award: Haydar Al Yasiry
- DCAC Bravo Award: Leslie Herrick
- Mayor's Award: Noretta Dunworth
- Arts Educator Award: Sharon Baloga
- Arts Patron Award: Park Place Caterers
- Arts Organization Award: Stout Theater Company
The students of Stout Theater Company will give a musical performance at the event, along with The Silver Strings Dulcimer Society. The eveningβs MC will be Susan McGraw, longtime host and general manager at WHFR, Henry Ford Collegeβs radio station. An afterglow will be held and the public is invited to celebrate after with the honorees.
